This is a “superfood veggie” which is very beneficial for purifying the bloodstream, lowering blood pressure, increasing athletic performance, reducing inflammation in the body and improving cardiovascular health. The beets can be eaten raw or cooked. They can be juiced, that is they can be pressed while raw and the juice extracted. It is well known that, when vegetables are juiced, they are ten times more nutrient rich reason being their nutritive compounds are highly concentrated. The beets are exceptionally great food for a healthy bloodstream. A cup of beetroot juice daily may help lower blood pressure. This is according to a study in The American Heart Association journal on Hypertension. The study sparked the new phrase “A cup of beet juice a day keeps the doctor away”.

High Nitrates

The plant Nitrates are favourable rather than harmful to the body. The photo-nitrates in the beet juice plays a significant role in reducing and maintaining blood pressure levels when consumed. The body converts the nitrate into nitric oxide in the blood. The nitric oxide helps to open up blood vessels and normalize blood flow. The photo-nutrients in the juice can help reduce hypertension and its related conditions. The beet juice have an energizing effect on the body and helps to motivate to do light cardio works.

Boosts Athletic Performance

The nitrates in beets allow the body to recuperate better from physical activity by increasing the amount of oxygen and blood flow to the brain, heart and the muscles. It was demonstrated by Professor Andrew Jones, head of sports and Health Science at the University of Exeter in England.
